Barbara Boxer Embarrasses California In Connecticut

Senator Barbara Boxer lost a great deal of respect by spending today campaigning with Rape Gurney Joe (and she flat out LIED about his position on Plan B). The writing on the wall was already faded by the time she arrived in Connecticut, more than a week after the San Jose Mercury News reported:

Liberal activists, including some California Democrats, are furious with Sen. Barbara Boxer -- a leading critic of the Iraq war -- for her active support of Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat who staunchly defends the war in Iraq. [...]

Boxer's decision stunned some California Democrats. Arianna Huffington, on her popular blog, titled one post "What the hell is Barbara Boxer thinking?''

Within days, Huffington Post and Daily Kos, another liberal blog, were filled with angry responses from Californians. "She better cancel that [Connecticut] trip if she wants any more donations from me and other California activists,'' wrote one.

"She's a damn foolish, selfish sellout,'' another wrote.

I agree with what Kos wrote today:
On the other hand, Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is sneaking into Connecticut today for a Lieberman fundraiser, hoping that Clinton's visit overshadows hers and no one notices she's in town, is suddenly a profile in cowardice.
As a constituent and former supporter, I am extremely disappointed in Boxer. Connecticut Bob has some video and Boxer comes off as a complete disgrace. Jane Hamsher has already torn Boxer a new one and I doubt she be the last one to point out how ridiculous Boxer acted by either lying about Joe's position or changing her position.

For the record, I just want to point out that I called it when I blogged that the camcorder was going to make for a "real bad situation" for Boxer.
