Concert rumor now a movement

I've written a good bit on Bay to the Beltway about the rumor, which has become a movement, to have Bruce Springsteen go toe-to-toe with President Bush during the Republican National Convention.

The level of excitement is partly because it is the Boss (who Forbes says "made more money on the road last year than any other concert act, grossing $116 million in the U.S. alone"). But mostly it is due to the amazing political contrast potential in the battleground states of the upper midwest and industrial east coast.

A new Reuters article, 'NY Promoter Wants Springsteen to Upstage Bush', says that the Draft Bruce petition has been signed by 50,000 people.

There is apparently potential for Springsteen to be joined by REM, The Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana and Bon Jovi to this "Concert for Change" or VoteAid. With the news of momentum being picked up all the way to England, I think it is safe to say more is to come.
