Feinstein blasts Steve Westly

With only 24 hours to go, our opponent, Steve Westly, is desperately trying to smear Phil's name. How desperate is he? Well, it appears that he's decided to forego fact-checking his attacks.

And Senator Dianne Feinstein is calling him on it.

According to a statement from Senator Feinstein, "the final Westly salvo last week contained false accusations of Angelides related to Lake Tahoe pollution. I think that Tahoe ad was entirely false and I thought (the ad) was dastardly."

And now, in addition to attacking Phil, the Westly campaign is aiming their over the top negative tactics at Senator Feinstein. Senator Barbara Boxer has demanded that the Westly campaign apologize saying, "I hope this kind of trash talk is rejected at the polls."
