For anyone who was interested in my previous post on netroots coordinators, the race to watch will be the U.S. Senate Primary in Connecticut where Ned Lamont is getting rid of Senator Joe Lieberman. Not only does Connecticut have an exciting local blogosphere, but Ned Lamont has Aldon Hynes and now even Tim Tagaris.
Bloggers are traveling to Connecticut to help Lamont and the campaign has raised $191080.62 from 3847 people via Actblue and is on pace to break Paul Hackett's record.
Yet Tagaris would be the first one to say that effective netroots organizing begins by realizing the blogosphere isn't an ATM (see parts I and II). Due to this understanding, the Lamont campaign has started a new Online Rapid Response Team (hat tip to Lamont Blog):
The internet is a critical tool in efficiently advancing the message, virally, of Ned Lamont's campaign for U.S. Senate. The netroots are a valuable resource for any campaign in the modern political environment (and no, not just for fundraising). If you often find yourself online, or have a blog or your own website, we want to include you in our effort as part of an online rapid response team. What's your readership size? It doesn't matter.I signed up and will be doing what I can to help Ned Lamont.
The Internet is a medium built for speed, and we need to raise an army. In "waging politics online," a campaign must have eyes everywhere, and ability to respond at any moment. Please consider filling out the form below and joining the team. After you fill out the form, you'll be directed to a page where you can get involved immediately!
