Stephen Colbert on Joe Lieberman

One reason the Connecticut Senate Primary has been getting a lot of attention nationally is because Joe Lieberman is a comic's dream. Lieberman himself is a joke, his campaign staff are hilariously inept, and the Bush kiss is the either the kiss of death or the gift that keeps on giving (depending upon whether you support the DLC or support the Democratic Party).

Last night Stephen Colbert weighed in on the race: "Lieberman supports the President and the President has supported Lieberman right back [video of kiss at State of the Union]. You know, Mr. Bush has such soft hands, I can only imagine what his lips are like. Evidently, low approval ratings can be contracted through saliva, because Lieberman now could actually lose the Democratic primary in August."
